  • my fry is sick....i got a sick kid

i notice for the past 2 days 2 of my kiriza fry havent been eating. they both would be at the bottom of the tank sitting still and their stomach looks bloated. i just took them out today and put them in my 5gallon hex that ive had running for a while with no fish. the last group in there was my demasoni fry. i only have aquarium salt right now so i put alittle in there.

i read on one of the forms to use clout and epson salt so ill be getting that tomorro. how much should i use of each? clout should be at LFS?
    Damn this hobby......

Man this sucks. I lost both of them. As soon as I put them over in the QT they didn't make it through the night.

I read somewhere on here that they get lonely in a QT. Is this what happen or was it already to late when I caught it.

Looking bloated is the last stage and usually its too late by that point. Its likely that you may have more sick fry. Watch your other fish closely and make sure they are eating and not spitting the food back out (mouthing it). Its best to have the medicine on hand and treat right away. I know I've lost a couple fry because I waited an extra day to medicate them just because I wasn't ready.

                Treat them fish.

                What you been feeding them?

                Water change?

                Conditioner used?

                Age of tank?
I ate my fish that died.

Just bought a 10tablets of clout from tropical fish of 249 for 8 bucks.
Directions say put 1 pill for every 10 gallons.

How much epsom salt do drop in. This is for my 30g.

You need to treat them for 5 days, which means you'll need another box of clout.

If you are going with clout follow the next steps:
                          Remove Carbon or purigen.
Day 1 : 75% - 80% Water change. Treat with full dose of Clout (1 pill per 10gal). Covered tank completely...no lights....NO FOOD.
Day 2 : Treat with Clout (Full Dose) . No water change. Keep tank covered...no lights...no foood.
Day 3 : 75% - 80% water change. Treat with Epsom Salt. No lights...no food.
Day 4: Full dose of Clout ...No water change...no lights..no food.
Day 5: Full dose of Clout..... No water change...no lights..no food.
Day 6: 75% - 80% water change. Treat with Epsom Salt. No lights...no food.
After this point all your fish were back to normal and you need to start feeding lightly again.

                          Good luck

I feed my fry NLS Thera A in the smallest .5mm size to help avoid parasites and illness. Clout is good stuff, but very strong. Be careful when you nuke your tank. I usually lessen the strength some. Also, expect it to turn your silicone edges blue.

How is metro used compared to clout?

The other guys in my tank seem good all are eating and active. I put 3 table spoons of epsom last night before lights out. I don't want to use clout if it's that strong. But if I must then I will. Info on metro would be great and where to get it on the northside.
