  • Question? Help please.

Is it possible for a 5" Greyshaki & a 2" Kenyi to breed? The 2" Kenyi has found herself,"assuming" it's a her, has found herself a spot in the tank that she runs everyone off from accept the 5" Greyshaki. He comes along and changes color, does alot of shaking. I'm guessing that they are trying for twins. Just thought I would ask.

Thank's fellas. Does this display of affection sound like a breeding type of ritual to either of you? I mean the color changes and wierd dancing?

Hahaha - weird dancing. I call it "Elvis gyrations". The first time I saw a spawning flirtation going on, I thought my fish was having convulsions - no kidding. This is normal . Mbuna are bad about crossbreeding and I've watched my kenyi change colors to fit into the colony, not just at maturation. Colors change dramatically when spawning also!
          Thanks so much,
