  • Help sick demasonis

I just changed my water, and two of my dems are floating at the top and sides od the tank, like they are sick. One is darker than normal, and ones mouth is whitish. The mouth part may or may not be different than before. Could I have added too much water treatment? I have a 55 gal tank with 11 dems, and 12 yellow labs. Only two dems seem sick so far.

I am worried and don't know what to do.Please help.

    Thanks

make sure that you have Oxygen going into the tank. You can add to much dechlorinator in to your water, but the main problem there is that dechlorinator robs Oxygen from your tank. Heavy O2 when you add dechlorinator into the tank, then the process will not be so hard on your fish.

I once had an entire air line lining the back of my tank and it didn't help. I had to lower the water level below my spray bars before the fish righted themselves and swam around normally. SOme fish are more prone to oxygen deprivation than others. Get somem more air running through your tank and see if that doesn't help.

You can also stir water around. Having an extra power head around works well for this sort of thing.

            bloat

I think they have bloat. The air thing hasnt worked, so I set up a hospital tank with
fungus eliminator. I went to T&T, and told the guy what was going on and this is what he recommended. The ph is about 79, and water temps are 78. Hopefully this will work. It is a yellow powder whihch removes fungus and bacteria, and he says it will cure bloat. We'll see. Thanks for the help, I will post the results
