finally i know what local of my fish xenotilapia ochrogenys zaire.....THE SEARCH IS OVER.....AND FOR ANYONE WHO BOUGHT SOME FROM TROUNG THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE....HE HAD ABOUT 30 OR SO ABOUT MONTHS AGO....I BOUGHT 12 FROM BATCH AND FINALLY HAVE FOUND PICS OF WHAT MY MALE LOOKS LIKE....

Did someone (Truong/importer) tell you this . . or are you comparing pictures of things online?

Zaire - or the Democratic Republic of the Congo - takes up a fairly large portion of the western side of the lake. The variants that I know of are Ndole, Mzuri, and Utinta -- none or which are technically in the Congo. The only one on the west side is Ndole . . . and from what I understand it actually has a pretty wide collection point. The Mzuri variant was reclassified as X. singularis "Mzuri" several years ago.

Regardless of what they are . . . they are some beautiful xenos!!!

tim i went to toms tangs and checked his pics out of fish that he had....he had it classified as a zaire but pic is of the fish that i have....maybe someone can tell me by looking at his pics what local....thanks for the post tim...
