Malawi pc/hap tanks are supposed to be peaceful, but mine is not. There has been more aggression in this tank as of late than when we had females. There are a few mbuna in there as well, but they pose no threat. The temp is kept at 77 deg. The tank has less fish in it now than ever before. I do have an ob pc. He's a real Richard. I've read they're more aggressive due to being a hybrid pc/mbuna. I think I'll leave them out on my next tank. What are some of ya'll's experiences with aggression, and what was the most effective way in managing it?

As odd as this sounds, aggression can be mitigated at least slightly by heavy stocking. When there are literally too many fish in the tank for a bully to focus his aggression on the overall level diminishes. I'd first read of this in Dr. Loiselle's book, 'The Cichlid Aquarium' around 25 years ago or so.
MarkWhat are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I'm no longer allowed to bring home OBs by edict of my wife, heh. We've had some beautiful ones in the past, but my experience has been that they get along fairly well with the fish they've grown up with, but trying to introduce new ones in a tank with a decent-sized OB is very problematic. As much as I like them, I avoid them at this point.

My tanks get along better with overstocking than under...
As long as I keep things clean and appropriately fed I have little to no problems. When the number dwindle from age or illness... THEN I have problems.
I would suggest either increasing your numbers or rearranging your tank/adding some caves etc.
I have fish living together from different parts of the world. I definitely have fish who should never live in the same tank...however... it can work.
If you find there is one particular problem in the tank...then the best bet is to remove it... but I would try rearranging first...5.5 fw fluval chi - class N top bar snake chested endlers/ red marble bn/ 4 stripe RCS/ pumpkin shrimp
