  • Color Change

My Male and Female Kenyi, about 3 years old, are changing color. I was wondering if this could be a sign of old age or is this common? They were once really blue. Now they are a faded yellow. They are the only two in the tank doing this. They are also the breeding pair I have. Thanks for your help.

Kenyi all start of blue with black bars, the males once starting to mature turn into a yellowish golden color with black bars.

My yellow male was running the tank nuts especially when the females were cariyng fry, then he decided to dig under the wrong rock......all I saw was a tail fin sticking out from under the sand after the rock rolled on top of him. I think the rest of the fish helped bury him & everyone was happy!! LOL I did get some offspring & out of 4, one turned yellow after about 6 months, so one male, 3 females.
