I would recommend taking some length out of those hoses. Every bend that the water has to go through takes away from your flow rate. Its a good start though!

Thanks B. I'm still curious about the pump being on it's side. If i'm not mistaken, the pump only mounts one way. So, in order to get the pump on the side, you would have to put the whole canister on it's side. Please post a picture of your setup like this. I'm dying to know how that's working for ya.

If memory serves me correctly, you have to break off a little clip to mount it on its side.

no you don't have to break anything off Tim you turn it to the side with the cord to the top. The other way is when you have to break off the tap behind the motor. All mine are on their sides and I didn't have to break anything

I'm not completely following you but, tell me the benefit in this. Post a pic Justin. I see the one Nelson posted but, it looks the same as mine.

Don't worry about it if you like your setup don't let me steer you to do it different and if you don't see the difference between the hose coming out the top then from the side I can't help you anyway

I'm slow. My fault. Take the 4 screws out, turn the pump on it,s side, and there you go. Hose now on it's side. Well, that was fun. Now what do I do?

So you didn't reposition the bracket on the motor so you can reinstall the screws? If not you might want to do that cause it will vibrate like crazy

So Bill are you planning on upping your filter game soon. Just a thought one more Eheim and a wet/dry. That would make your tank nice. Get rid of that booboo bubble wand and get you a wet/dry and some vortechs.
