  • Peacock aggression question

I added a male and 2 females to my peacock tank today. I already had a male and 2 females, now the male that was in there is beating the new male up pretty bad. Any advice on how to keep it to a minimum or just wait it out?

Rearrange decor and keep light off when they are introduced in the future . . . I found that worked pretty well. Go ahead and do it now if he isn't beat up too bad, otherwise put him in a hospital tank.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Yea, change up ur decor. As soon as I do that and my normal waterchange, things work out better for the new guys

This is normal. Some male peacocks are just downright mean. I agree with the suggestions here.

So now you have 2M and 4F. I think another male is always good. Just make sure the beating does not end up in death. If it gets bad remove the one getting beat up. I would also add some more females if you can. I like big groups that way the dominate male cant single out just one and attack all the time. Spreads the aggresion out if you have more mates.

Well now its 2 males and 5 females, the sub male confuses me. I rescape with a spot for him to set up his territory and all he does is go hangout by the dom males territory. Resulting in beatings...

He is new to the area , probley a little stressed and confused. He has no estabished territory.
Just monitor the situation and make sure its only chasing around and not actually taking licks out of the side of him.

Then I would say remove him until he is 100% , Then when he is 100% Try moving everything around and then put him back in the tank when its night time and the lights are off that way he has a little time to relax and find a spot. If that dont work I got something else you can try LOL

As long as the water is good. I am not sure how you set the tank up. Did you seed it with good bacteria from another tank? Or are you doing a full cycle?
