  • Wild or Tank Bred?

I am going to buy some Pelvicachromis taeniatus. I don’t plan on buying “wild caught” because I’d worry that they wouldn’t acclimate, and feel really lousy when one of my fishes dies. Since I also don’t want to buy hybids should I specify a F1 designation P. taeniatus “Moliwe,” or just hope I’m not buying a hybrid, or just buy wild caught and hope for the best? Anyone have experience with this variety?

If you want to breed and sell fry as P. taeniatus "Moliwe", I'd recommend getting WC or F1 from a reputable fish store. Not too many people have these that I know of . . . You can find the only person that I know of that has them here: http://www.houstonfishbox.com/vforum...s-Moliwe-video

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Pelvicachromis taeniatus “Moliwe” was rather difficult to find....as you said. They will be going into a planted tank which was set up in April, with 4 zebra danio, and a siamese algae eater,

Before I bring home my pair of wild caught fish from the store, is there any specific information I should get? I searched the archives about wild caught and saw the post about parasites and deworming. I never had to purchase WC before, should I ask them to keep the fish for a week or so before I take them home?
