  • Demasoni fry

I knew my demasoni was holding for the first time but didn't want to strip her. Today i found around 10 good size little fry with her in the breeder. I usually would put them in a net breeder in the same tank but there is more water movement now that i added a bigger filter and powerhead.

Should i leave em there in a net breeder or put them in a small container.

If i leave em there will any of the following food cause my trophs to become ill.
I always just crush the following food into finer pieces/dust.

If the fry are still in the breeder net....and you're just feeding them the crushed flake......then I don't think your Trophs will be able to consume a large enough amount of the flake to do them any harm . But if you're still concerned...you may just wanna buy some NLS Grow...which is super small pellets and that way you won't have to worry about whether your Trophs will get sick .

i always just strip the female. Throw them in a net or plastic holding container in the aquarium. and just feed them 1mm NLS pellets and they seem to be fine with out crushing their food and stuff. It gets soft over time. I started to cover the holding container because fish from the tank would jump inside the breeding container and make a meal out of the fry...

Ok, I may have a dumb question. How do you strip the babies from the female?

I would usually leave them in a net breeder but one of the clips that holds it to the aquarium wall was broken and i was afraid they would become food, and there was too much flow so i was also afraid my floating breeder would tilt too much allowing a few fry to flow out the top.... so i jut got 2 glass top and let the two side tabs from the floating breeder rest on the glass tops..... I used to feed my other demasoni fry tetra flakes b4 i had trophs so i guess my panic mode just blocked out the obvious reasoning of simply crushing nls

Does any one know if i can give em boiled egg yolk or is it too rich in protein.... i forgot which fish i would give this to

you get the female, hold her in a container with a very low water lever and open her mouth with a paper clip.... the paper clip part is easier than it sounds

You're trying to do too much . Just keep it simple . There's nothing out there better for your fry than NLS........so why complicate things ?
