I need help with my Electric Yellow

I have had a full grown female (electric Yellow) in my 16 gallon bow front tank for about 5 months now. I obtained her as an adult from a preschool fish tank. They were giving them away to better homes due to a remodel in the building. My husband and I have a love for this fish. She has such a personality! She has many hiding places behind big rocks I placed in there for her and tons of gravel piles that she makes herself after a good tank cleaning :) She does not seem stressed and is eating regularly.
Yes yes, I know she needs a bigger tank and that is why I am writing. I am finally upgrading to a 30 gallon now that we have to room to put one. My question is: Can I put another juvenile Electric yellow in with her once she is in a bigger tank? She is very aggressive. She was once with another Cichlid and was a pure bully! Or am I just better off keeping her alone since a 30 gallon is on the smaller size of keeping an Electric Yellow... Thanks for any help I may get!!

I would leave her by herself in that small of a tank. Once you can upgrade to a tank that is at least 4 ft long, it would be fine to put more fish in with her. That way they have a chance to get away from her. Sorry, but a 30g is just too small for african cichlids, especially if they are full grown. Good luck!

When you have a chance, would you mind posting a picture of your electric yellow cichlid and his tank? Often time it takes a bit of work to introduce tankmates to an aggressive fishthat has gotten used to being alone.
