So I decided to give tropheous a chance and have had em for a little over 2 monthts.
1st month: 25 trophs, 9 demasonis, 7 textillis, 1 venustus, 2 mbuna, 1 front all in a 55 gallon with fx5, koralia evolution, weekly w/c, nls food = no problem.
3weeks ago: everything the same minus frontosa= all fish eating well but 1 troph with bloat which i loose but doing justin's treatment with clout all make it and are eating well again. That time an ammonia issue no major than .25ppm may have caused it or my unplugged heater.
Yesterday: same but by now i have gotten rid of all the textilis, and venustus as well, so i'm getting ready to do a w/c which are a bit more often than once a week. Before the w/c i feed them and notice all but 1 eating with the crowd. So i go ahead with the w/c to prepare for treatment with clout and during the w/c find another ill looking one. Today i came home and found the 2 ill ones dead.
I didn't check the water bc i was more worried about beginning treatment but with less of a bioload i doubt that.
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS BLOAT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY CAUSED DUE TO AGGRESSION SINCE I TOOK OUT ALL THE ROCKS TO BLEACH THEM LAST TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY AND WAS BARELY ABOUT TO PUT THEM BACK YESTERDAY WHEN I SPOTTED THE PROBLEM??????????
One of my 2mbunas is very territorial and i'll probably be getting rid of him. My demasonis don't really display much aggression and were in great shape until this week WITH NO ROCKS, the smaller ones had damaged fins.
