Not if you don't mind watching them die, it's all up to you, I have a 60g 4ft tank and they fight in that but have the chasing space I was talking about and these are 2inch Kasangas! Now imagine adults cramped in a 3ft tank, get a bigger tank, why risk it? I already have a 5ft tank that I'm moving them too in a couple of months so I'm not worried, If I was moving them to a 3ft tank, I'd lose sleep. Get the bigger tank, you and your Tropheus will be HAPPY for it.

I dont have money or space for a bigger tank.

The trophs are ugly brown fish and they're being given to me from a good friend. Honestly after watching the oscar and parrot fish i got to cycle the tank tear up all these rosies it'll be cool to watch some fighting

I'm actually hoping to pull off the "pack 'em like sardines" route and with a prayer I can keep these fish alive

While this is not the ideal situation for the fish, packing them in tends to spread the agression out. The fish are so crowded that it is hard to pick out someone to bully. The males may pick a smaller male out and he will have to go, but I think this can work. The hard part is going to be keeping the water parameters up. I don't think it can be assumed that the fish will just die,I have seen stranger things work

Haha YES! I was wondering where Mike was in this discussion. Mike can make the "impossible" stuff happen with a little knowledge and a lot of bravado. Go Tango!

I've bred convicts in a 3g bucket... I'm sure trophs won't be much harder.

I did 22 gk's and 13 dubs 4 of which were 6" wc males from delocks old colony. In a 75g fx5and 2260 plus 2x k4's. I gave them to mark, they went into a 36"l 12"w 16"t tank. About 38g. The dubs held in here consistantly. Filtration was 2x ac110's. Tueu did wonderfully.

I think if I pull my memory out the dirts about these trophs I can pull it off.
