while i was at work Lisa called to tell me she was doing water changes in my fry tank and grow out tank,when she sucked up a little itty bitty fry[from the grow out tank].this is a little odd,you see the fish in that tank range from 1.5"to 2.5",and i know i didnt drop any fry in there,then she screamed,i said what are you doing.and i quote"a 4" black fish swam out and bit me!"funny i dont have any 4 " fish in there.
So i get a few hours later and do some looking,not the super red empress,not the red fin compressiceps,ahaaa the cherry red spot birchardi[neo]...
a nice big [for a grow out tank] 3,5"male swarmed by a batch of fry.looks like my little starter colony has taken off.looks like i have 2 groups that are allready spawning.outstanding.now i know there is absolutely something in the water,red devils,green terrors,hrp,and now these little guys.all spawning at once.it was a good day.
by the way if anyone wants any red devil[pure]wigglers,green terror,or hrps let me know there spawning every 3 weeks and im out of room.

Ummm.....sounds interesting, I have what are called peach faced brichardi here with 3 or 4 groups of fry at various sizes. I would like to trade a few back and forth with you down the road a piece to mix the blood a bit if you don't mind.  Another member here too,.....shoot, now I forget who it is, but he has a couple of broods of brichardi going too....we plan to swap some fry soon as well.  Shoot, I can only think of the turkey baster......   Honkzz?? naw.....delock.....nooo.....poo.....it's a bummer getting old.....

absolutly,these are one of my favorite fish.
havent kept them for a couple years saw some of these red spots and had to have them bought them as fry and looks like ill have a few pairs.
ive posted before looking for them with only one response im thinking it was sue?but i could be wrong.im currently keeping them with red fin compressicieps and some red emps[untill i sell them all.]next i need to find some buscheri[sp?]i want to have a 3-4 species community [all lamps with my 2 little multipungtotius [sp?]cats.

Congrats on the fry!

Just be forewarned, crash83... those Synos love munching on fry. Could work out well though if you don't want to keep too many fry.

I have no idea how many tanks you currently have... but I agree with wvgdiscus and mzungu... sounds like you are gonna need more.

yea...right now the syno are snacking on my red devil,green terror,and hrp fry[they all bred in a community envirment.].when i moved here last year from ohio i had to downsize i sold all my tanks but 1 [i had 12 up and running]180 custom cube,125,a few 75,a 90 here and there,all the way down to 20.now i have only 3 !a compromise simialar to your own arm!lol.but she is coming around she want a new bigger tank now,so in a few weeks i can hopefully be adding a few more tanks.
