  • Need advice

    I curently have crushed puka shell in my tank im planning on changing it to lpfs and was wondering should I take all my fish out and drain half half and add sand or leave fish,in drain half and add sand whats best...
    Out of the hobby for now..

    I would definitely take the fish out. Maybe even have a separate container ready to keep them in until the water clears. Run some filter floss.

        Run the filters on the tubs that house the fish to keep the biofiltration going and change the substrate. Don't do it with the fish in the tank.

          I just went through the same thing. I kept the fish in the tank, and took it really, really slow. It worked out fine, but it is a sensitive process if you leave the in.

            Ok thanks everyone but today I.drained half of water didnt remove any fish cleaned the lpfs realy good and added slowly now water has cleared about 90% and all fish are fine

            My petros and fonts love it...

                Awesome. When I switched substrates with the mobas in a newly cycled tank, I kept old mesh bags of substrate in the corners of the tank just for a week or two, til things settled down. Worked out well.

                Pics of the new substrate/scape when it all settles!! :)
                All bleeding stops eventually...

                    That is alot of holey rock! Have you thought about making piles / tunnels with it?
