Thanks b. I really hope I like it better once the water clears. The fish are LOVING it. They've been more active than ever, esp the new school of furcatus. I think I want to get more of those. They swim through every nook and crevice in the tank, flaring their fins and flashing their yellows. It's pretty awesome to watch.

Mike is holding a few Neolamprologus meleagris/stappersii (pearly ocellatus) juvies for me. We ordered them weeks ago but my tank just hasn't been ready. I think that if all goes well and stays stable, I'll be picking them up from him next week!!

      • I like this one better. I think I'd like to see it without the middle branch in there. I think the tank would look good without it. That would really focus the attention on the driftwood to the left which is really nice.

I love the way you have the rocks arranged on the right side with the shells trailing the pile off into the main tank. Very natural looking. If the fish move those shells from there, it would look good to add some small rocks to continue that theme.

Thanks much. If they move the shells, I'll definitely add some small smooth rocks from the betta tank.

So you think I should remove the arch piece? Or the one that branches upward from the bottom, kinda under the arch?

          • I'm thinking of removing the one that branches upward from the bottom, going under the arch. I love that arch piece. I'm thinking it would look good on its own without the other branch distracting from it.

                • I like this new scape you got going Bee. Once you get all the livestock in, it's going to all come together very well.

Dude... you gonna be at the GHAC party? I'll bring the rock for you with a little bow on it, and then you can name it. I personally feel he looks like a Fred, but it's up to you. )

                    • I think lay 'em all down bunched up with on one side and let them reach out.

Thanks. And you're right about the livestock... already the furcatus are loving the scape. We'll see how the stappersii do.

Vicki, I took out the middle branching piece like you said, and the tank ended up looking really empty, despite the rocks. I think for now I'll leave it as is since the fish love it so much... and maybe it'll grow more on me later.

BTW, I finally recharged the Purigen I got from eklikewhoa. Amazing stuff!! Less than 24 hours, and all my tannins are gone and the water looks beautiful. Yay!

Jinx yourself! I win, it's MY thread!!

The reason I need to have something breaking the line of sight from one side to the other is in case I end up with 2 stappersii males, or 2 pairs. I originally tried having all the wood on the left reaching to the middle, but it wouldn't work if I had 2 males in there.

I will. I want to add about 4 more, but I want some more females. Poor thing is solo in the tank right now with 5 males. She's mad aggressive, too! She goes after other furcatus and esp the white clouds!
