  • Water flow in a 72bow tropheus tank

Ok, I got a 72 bow and i just got some WC red chimba and looking to get some WC Kasakalawe, this is my first tropheus set up i am aware of their maintenance. The guy that i got the chimbas from had two 1400gph in a 75. I am wondering if i get the koralia 8 will be too much since its rated for 3250gph. Or should i get the koralia 4, and 3. Any input is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance guys.

IMO koralia 8 might be too much in a 72. Especially, if you have sand as a substrate because you can forget about not having any bald spots. I have a koralia 8 in my 6ft 125g and have it positioned "just right".

Go with the 2 koralias 1400 and don't mix chimbas with kasangas please!

ok, thanks guys. I know that i cant put any red species tropheus that arent red chimbas, but i was told that the red rainbow will be ok. Anyways i was wanting to do either the Kasakalawe or the blue or purple rainbow.

I don't think you can mix the chimbas with any moorii variant without risk of crossbreeding. If you want to mix them go with any duboisi or brichardi variant or better have a single variant and they will show better color and best breeding ratio.
