55g African Cichlid tank

This is a tank that i recently set up for a client of mine.

Tank: 55g
Filter: Aquaclear 70 (standard media)
Substrate: Leslie's Pool Filtered Sand
Rocks: Grey River Stones
Fish: Yellow Labs, Electric Blue, Blue Dolphin and Jacob Freiberghi Peacocks
Plants: Artificial
Lighting: 36" TruLumen Pro

It's still a work in progress. I wanted to add a few more small plants in the front to add some depth to the tank but they are on a limited budget so i have to wait. Other than that. This client wanted a clean, simple and natural aquarium and they were very pleased with the outcome.

I think it looks great and great use of the artificial plants!!! They add to the layout without looking fake. I really like the rock layout and sizing differentials.

Maybe some different peacocks but the tank has close to 20 fish in it.

it looks so nice, I have a similar setup but I was using a black background and when I saw your tank I decided to switch it too the other side which it has the blue ocean background (wish I had the plain blue) but big difference, I still need to work on the gravel to sand convertion, this was my first tank, so I got the colored gravel one of this days will change it so some black sand but for now it is what it is, and well the plants gave me another idea :) sorry to copy cat you :).


it even has probably the same fish, red top and yellow, well I have some Kenyi too, and the cats and pleco.

It's purty. Some people get away from some of the more common cichlids but they are the ones that make your tank pop and are responsible for many people entering the hobby in the first place. Nice work!
