  • LoL, I like the drab colored variants best, they are more uniform as a colony and aren't held to the high expectations of those sp.red/blk/rainbow when it comes to color quality. Kinda lets you bypass that mumbo jumbo and just enjoy the fish.

                      • i wonder too.... lets get a video or something of how this thing works

                        • I have a vid in the purigen thread in the chemistry forum.

It works just the same as if used on a SW/Reef tank but with a lot less flow to fluidize since the purigen is much lighter than normal media meant for the reactor, actually slightly less than what you would on a Rowa Phos reactor.

instead of passing water though a bag and only utilizing the outer, exposed media you "bounce" the media in the reactor and water passes around every bit of media thus creating a 100% efficiency from the media.

Running out of the wet/dry is the same, pump feeds into the reactor from whichever chamber that holds water (I chose the last chamber to minimize detritus that enters the reactor) then it returns into the drip tray to keep the wet/dry running when I shut off the return pump during water changes.

a lot of reef technology applied to FW which works great seeing as though Tanganyikan closely resembles that of a reef.

                            • It's already set up and there's a vid in the purigen thread in the chemistry sub forum.

                              • Either the iPhone isn't letting me see that there's a video. Or there isn't a video at all
