Ok so Tangynikan community it is. So give me a list and amounts of each to keep from each person. This is going to be an election tank.

OMG I AM SO GRATEFUL I'M FEMALE! LOL
Seriously, I will give you a "female" idea. I have a 150 show tank that I did over a year ago as an experiment and it worked beautifully and I continue to add to it. EVERYONE that ever comes to my house goes crazy over this tank. Now I have like 40 freaking tanks in my house, and it never ends that this is the one that "wows" people.
It is a mixture of ALL different kinds and species of fish that are not suppose to be together, but I took each fish's needs/temperament into consideration and weighed it out. I like things that are "different" heehee. I just made sure I didn't put m/f of same fish if it would stir up breeding aggression with that particular fish. (Whereas other fish do breed but cause no problems) Not for everyone, but thought I'd give you an idea.
Here is a list of some of the fish I have in there: Assorted angels, various geophagus, clown loaches, snowball pleco, gold nugget pleco, mango pleco, red scat, monodactylus serbae & argenteus, yellow labs, white labs, rusties, acei, frontosa, rotkeil severum, red severum, gold severum, green severum, nicaragensis, chocolate cichlid, redhead cichlid, blood parrots, honduran red points, blue sapphire, blue dolphin, boesemani rainbow, turquoise rainbow, parkinsoni rainbow, tr. golden kazumba, tr. yellow rainbow, tr. maswa duboisi, tr. red moliro, and a couple of petro famula & some others. Freakin crazy! BUT it is SO beautiful and there is NEVER any aggression - it is active but peaceful. Actually the ones that are a regular pain in the *** are the parrots - but they are all attitude, can't do any harm!
It is lavishly scaped with a mixture of natural colored pool sand and black sand mixed together which makes it look like realistic lake substrate. I have driftwood, petrified wood, big river rocks, slate, a bit of holey rock, and tons of silk plants. Thanks so much,
Lydia

Nice! I nearly did a Tang community. As far as shellies, I think you should look for neolamprologus stappersii/meleagris. Badass, gorgeous, cool behaviors, and really not very common. Difficult to breed as well. I personally like calvus also, but that's a personal preference sorta thang. All bleeding stops eventually...
