  • Advice on some Trophs

Getting back into the game and want to start off slow.

I am wondering is it possible to house 10-12 preadult to adult Ilangi/Muragos in a 3ft 40g breeder for temporary. I say 2 months tops until I pick up a 90g 4ft. Possible?

If not I can always throw them in my 125g 6ft'er.

Reason I don't want to initially put them in my 125g because I'm in the process of moving out some Goldfish need to find them a home.

Probably skip towards the middle but here...

If you believe and clean behind your ears every night things just might work out despite all those naysayers that are scared to try anything on their own and only repeat what they were told they couldn't do from others that were too scared.

I hope the fishes don't piss me off and make me go buy a brand new tank right away...cause I'm eyeballing craigslist waiting for a deal.

            ugh oh...

Anyone want some free punk *** gold fish? lol

I don't want to be cruel and flush them down the drain.

I also have a single large male 5''??? Trophs. I forgot what the name was that I got from Mike awhile back. The colony that killed itself off. Looks like a Moop. Help me out here Thai...lol

Anyways will he be alright with the new fish? Or will they breed or something?

I called some petstores and the prices between the 75 and 90 weren't far off. I like the extra 4'' of viewing. higher the tank the cleaner it looks. The reason I hate my 125g and wish I never sold my 210g. lol

Oh yeah! Mbita Islands! Let me snap a photo of the big fella. He's happy with his gold fish buddies. This angry mf'er killed them all by himself.

I don't think it makes much difference. Before the majority caught on people were keeping these in 3ft 55g or smaller and in colony sizes, if you can call it that, of 6-10. Yeah a lot of them had problems but look at the ones that didn't, those are the ones that kept the hobby alive long enough for the rest of us noobs to join in on the fun and act a donkey

I heard Ilangis are some of the meanest trophs out there?

I'm still curious as to how they are the most expensive still, even though every body have them.

They're 10$ more than any other WC on all the importer's list I've come across.

Having kept them myself for a long time and learning from them I wouldn't say they are that mean towards con-specific.

I think their cost has more to do with where they are collected or how much trouble it is to get them here vs. what people have. Plus I don't think "everybody" has them, just seems that way and they've come down in price a great deal.

Where can I buy normal sand at? I think that's what I'm going to use as a substrate for my temporary tank. And few big pieces of petrified wood I have laying around.

                              Like pool filter sand?

Leslies pool filter sand... the white w/blue lettering sand is the light in color, the blue w/white lettering is darker mud looking in color.
