Just out of curiousity....do ya'll use ph buffers on your Tanganyika tanks? I'm testing 7.8-8 on my tap in the city of Houston. Seems a little low.

BTW I think I'm moving my lufubus into my 125g and my goldfish into my breeder in about a month. I'll also need to pick up a eheim 2262 and some more MH lights. :|

I forgot how expensive this hobby is.

I use Aragonite sand for my substrate, lace rock and I use a tanganyika buffer occasionally. To be honest I have the fish breeding in the water as it is and think the buffer might be better suited to WC fish rather then the tank bred ones I have.

I have WC and F1 and don't use any buffers in the water. Have PFS substrate and a variety of rocks in my tanks. PH out of the tap is 7.6 - 7.8 and I have plenty of breeding going on.

I guess I misunderstood your intentions. My apologies.

I said I was willing to sacrifice my 125g 6fter tank for my goldfish to stay alive and buy a new tank for my newly acquired Tropheus....

I will take the goldfish for free if no one wants him.

If those are really goldfish, I would clean the tank up before I move trophs there. Goldfish are filthy

My lufubies are coming out to play :)

but it seems like 1-2 males are left without a cave....I'm thinking if I should add more rock piles...I have much more petrified wood.

Or let them duke it out and sub-dominant fall into the group of females.
