I know with my fish, the later I strip, the bigger the babies, the harder it is to get all of them, and the more stress the female undergoes. You could always let her spit lol.210gPetrochromis Macrognatus Green 'Nsumbu

I've stripped mine as early as two weeks, but they still have the egg sac. Key is to look at the female's cheeks. With mine, when I see darkness through the translucent cheeks, I figure the babies are big enough to be fine once I strip them. I never have a good experience with stripping though. The females always look bad afterwards. I hate it.210gPetrochromis Macrognatus Green 'Nsumbu

i strip my chaitikas all the time usually i way 2wks and half and strip, the babies have sac still but it goes away after a week in a breeding net or i just let them spit and scoop them. If you wait around 3 weeks and u net the females she will spit in the net most of time.175 tropheus Chaitika
