Just doing some thinking for the future!!
Personally....I think 8'x30"x30" is too damn big. That's about 375g.

But if big was what I wanted.....10'x36"x30" would look very sweet indeed.

10 ft is deffinitely the way to go. i've seen lots of 8 footers but that extra 2 ft makes an amazing tank.
      25g - Reef
      3.5g - Surge Tank
10g - Ichthyophthirius multifilis breeding colony

Yeah but it needs to be wide too.

If its not wide is looks weird.

I think once you go past an 8fter it needs to have a 3ft depth... the hardscape will be ridonkalous with that much depth to play with.

I have an 8 ft 240 gallon, 55gallon sump with a pump rated for 900 gph and 5 power heads, Rena filter thats been faithful to me. Lol and 3 HID bulbs? And water changes once a month

My next one will be 10 feet X24x30 tall so I can swim in it... Hopefully start that project next year... And like a 75-100 gallon sump with 2 or 3 7inch 100 micron filters with pond pump rated for like 2500 gph. And a DIY acrylic canister filter with another 900-100 gph flow rated pump. then maybe 8 hid kits on her for lighting. Two different temp colors

Wow, you have a big tank and you want to go bigger?!

How often do you do water changes?

What percentage of water do you replace?

How long does it take you?

I guess big tanks aren't bad if you do small water changes.

                                Do 28" tall.

24" is too short for awesome scape.
