  • Made my own fish food and even have a pic of the yummy stuff

Mixed my own contraption of Carrots, Cucumber, brine shrimp, NLS cichlid formula, garlic, fresh squeezed orange juice, apple, Alge pellets a couple whole shrimps and a couple other things. Any of ya try this?

its flattened and in a ziplock bag in the freezer. Break it up as i feed them

Im dying to see how they eat this stuff up.

There's a thread in the trophs club about shrimp mix.

Should add a bit of banana to bind the food so it stays solid when in the water.

I did that a few months back. I made the mistake of making it too thick to I can't break it off by hand. I have to use a chisel to break it into managable pieces, then I put it in a ziplock and use as needed.

Also be careful with the orange juice, not sure how bad it is but acidic juice could alter your pH.

If these fish are in Houston tap, it's gonna take GALLONS of juice to alter that pH, esp given the size of his tank.

I would use more shrimp in the mix to bind the foods and ditch any juice as it will just hit the water column. if anyting use blended fruits and strain it prior to adding to your mix

gelatin or banana will help bind it.
