  • Curious troph question

you never see anything another than WC or F1 troph's for sale, so what do you do with f2 and beyond fry?

  • #2
I see them all the time... sometimes people just don't disclose when they are f2+ upfront. Just ask and they usually tell.

Yeah, F2 are usually cheaper than F1 but like Thomas said it's not readily disclosed sometimes.

I've heard that the way we distinguish between F1 and F2, etc could be wrong. I think the main difference between WC and F-whatever trophs is genetic variation which is good. When u get to F-2, F-3, there's a lot of interbreeding with little variation which makes them worth less.

So what happens if you mix F1 fry from different blood lines and have one single breeding F1 colony?

Yeah true. Not sure how many people aim to get different bloodlines though?

The longer and longer I keep these fish the more I realize f# don't matter.

All the fishes sold should be called TR b/c we raising them in our tanks.
