It's possible you'll see some of my furniture for sale in the lounge section. I've got to make room for a 6 or 7 foot tank!

You haven't truly experienced the hobby until you try africans. Especially Tropheus and Petrochromis. It's amazing how much personality they have

I've been seriously thinking about trying the Tropheus. I just don't know which I want more. The Frontosas are the Tropheus.

Why do you say this EK? Do you think that the Tropheus will make me change my mind about the Fronts? You know, I was wondering..." what would make a man give up.. Moba's.?"

Re: Finally started an Mpimbwe Colony

I love fronts....always have since I was a little youging and when I got the space and money I dove in with some burundi's then sold those to up the game to Mobas.

I never really felt the Tropheus craze even when Mike was bringing them in over at sunny's......then one day I stopped and watched a colony of trophs and it was the end of the story.....

Bought a 6ft tank...did lots of research and flipped through what I wanted and then I came across the Ilangi's. Lucky for me they have been a bit hard to come by by the time I wanted them.....so obviously I paid a bit more then usual....Now the addiction has growing and in order to feed it I have to make room that is already used.....so the mobas are the ones....I love them...don't want them to go and was a bit relieved the past few times I tried to sell them cause most of the buyer's flaked or just couldn't afford them.

but to sum it up, yeah they will cause most to want them over fronts

Re: Finally started an Mpimbwe Colony

I am going to have to agree with Ek here...  I watched Fronts for a while thinking that was going to be the ultimate fish to get.... until the faithful day I went to Tim's House to buy some LFS from him.  I meet his Tropheus "Bemba Flame" and I was instantly hooked, line and sinker...
I have already talked to the roomate... I am spending part of my IRS refund check next year on getting a tank, we are going to build a stand into the wall in my "entertainment niche" in the corner of the house.  I am going to put a 180 or 210 RR tank there, and it will have Tropheus in it..  and if you had come to me just before that faithful day in July I would have told you hands down no question about it.. give me a tank of Fronts...

back when I used to work at Ultimate Fish right after alex moved to the new location the first tank i ever saw was a 300 gallon full of mpimbwe's. i was amazed and wanted to duplicate that ever since i saw it.
