  • Lighting for Malawi Peacocks

    Hi,

I have a 100 gal tank with Malawi peacocks and a few Malawi haps. Just curious what kind of light and bulb would be best to bring out the colors in my fish. I have a lot of colorful peacocks, but my current lighting does not do them justice. Thanks.

Led lights are all the rage now and I have to admit do look cool. Still, I really like the coralife aqua light t5 fixtures. http://www.thatpetplace.com/aqualigh...hting-fixtures . They are surprisingly bright and look really amazing for the cost. I have run the freshwater double bulb (one 6700k and one Colormax) with my Oscar tank and my Congo tetra tank. It really brings out the colors. Still, if you like a cooler light, you could go with the dual bulb saltwater light. Haven't tried that one yet, but I bet it would bring out the blues in your peacocks.
