    Re: African cichlid ?

As long as you have the filtration and tank maintenance under control, you really don't have to follow that rule.  It just requires more water changes and filtration to keep you water condition right for healthy fish.

I agree, there's been way tooo much talk about rules around here lately...... :)

I have tried taking out the Blueberry and put the Hongi back in and covered the tank to make it darker. I will try to rearrange the tank and reintroduce the Blueberry as soon as the Hongi looks more comfortable.

My test seems to be working the Blueberry now treats the Hongi as one of the other fish that he seems to chase around for fun but doesnt attack. So hopefully it will continue to work out well.

glad to hear that. the only other suggestion i would add is maybe feed a little heavier, depending of course on how much you feed now. i have much fewer aggreasion issues when i feed twice a day as apposed to once, but dont overdo it too much. just keep you eye on the fish, sometimes they are just a tank killer. like a bumble bee cichlid, they are just mean SOBs

Cooler temps is suppose to slow them down and might help with the aggression as well.

My experience with a mean fish is its just a matter of time before the issue arises again.  I had to move one from tank to tank before I just got tired of moving him.
