          Re: Did some rearranging......

I am planning on switching the substrate but really worried about how to go about and doing so.

I will going with the Eco-Complete cichlid substrate for this tank and changing the background at the same time.

its such a pain to try to get it all out, only way i really know is break the whole b*&%# down and then wet/dry vac everything out, then replace and refill, it you had some big garbage cans you wouldnt even be doing that big of a water change. but dang thats a lot of eco-cichlid substrate, that stuff is expensive.

              Re: Did some rearranging......

Well this will be the second time I will have changed the substrate in this tank and the last time it went pretty easily but there wasn't much fish in there.

Trash cans just brought an idea on.... I need whoever wanted the gravel to drop off a trash can for me to fill. As for the cichlid substrate....it's not too bad really it has buffering capabilities as well as the release of all the other minerals and such that helps the fish feel more at home which is what I want for them.

I thought about PFS but me personally I don't really like the color, don't want to have to clean a crap load of sand, and it doesn't help much in water params.

Your mobas are truly awesome looking, looks like they are really happy Ek.Ive heard of a lighter substrate will lighten their coloration,so you may want to do some research on that unless you dont mind some loss of color.

                  Re: Did some rearranging......

Well I have seen other mobas in light colored substrate and the whites are brighter vs. mine being really dark into the whites. Also I will be using the eco-complete substrate which is more peppered color.

                          Re: Did some rearranging......

Yeah that guy is awesome!  I got two of them about a year ago....they came in with some other plecos and way to small to be selling IMO so I saved them from the LFS and raised them since....One of the two did fall to the Holey rock death trap though and now I am only left with one.

This little guy will be making a move shortly though to the community tank where he will be a bit safer with fish that have mouths too small to swallow him cause sometimes when the Fronts get into their "feeding mode" the sometimes mistaken the pleco which also comes out to eat with the others.

Yeah and trying to swallow the plec would be bad for both the fronts and the plec.

yes it would...there's a picture of a member of cyphos.com posted with an ABN inside her Front....not a pretty picture since one of the two had to lose it's life for the other to survive and I am guessing you have an idea of which one had to be cut up.
