    Ok so im standing in the kitchen cooking a frozen pizza eating an apple ....looking at my fronts swim about and began to think if my tangs would like some. Lol cut up some fresh golden delicious apple and threw some lil bites in! After a few tastes and spit out they chomped them all down
    5 gal baby hecqui grow out
    7 gal baby compressicps
    14 bio cube fry tank, multies-orange leleupi-telmatochromis
    4 tank rack- 30 cubes. Shellies, mulities-brevis-telmatochromis-caudopunctaus
    100 gal mixed community tank
    125 Tropheus black bembas

    Tanngankia cichlids what else

    Only thing I'd be worried about is the citric content. Not sure though. Glad they enjoyed it.

      Yea , i didnt give them a whole bunch. But it was cool to see predators eating apples ! My calvus, comps and hecqui all took a few pieces.

        Very cool, I imagine that in the lake they probably take what food they come across and thier diet if fairly broad compared to captive care.

          Couldn't the sugar content cause issues? Little bits in moderation are probably fine but I can't imagine them being well equiped to break down sugars.

            It shouldn't hurt the tank water and a varied diet is good for the fish.
