Man short tall tanks or cube like tanks are hard for me to scape. Also, trophs do better and look better in long tanks. In the meantime, I'd lay some pieces flat and maybe make a pile in a corner or something.

Ok then when my wife gets home we'll pull out some rock and do 2 piles one on each side. Are caves ok to have with trophs or will that create to much aggression
Aggression will always be there with trophs. It's a matter of limiting it. The dominant male will claim the coziest place as his so like Thai said, make sure u place it where other fish can avoid getting picked on. One thing I hate is when
my rock placement causes the fish to hide.

My wife is helping me scape this cause I can't lift crap with both hands having been cut on and she likes the idea of putting a cave somewhere. In the small tank they made there own lil cave went in but never really hid away
Funny thing about Trophs and caves is.....that they never really stay still long enough to enjoy the cave. They will run in and out of it for a few seconds ....but usually never really stay inside it for longer than a few seconds .
That's how the male ndole is. He goes in the lil cave he dug out and is back out a few seconds later then when someone else goes in he chases them out goes in for a few and back out again
Btw.....if you like your tank scape the way it is now....then leave it . It won't hurt the Trophs . Trust me....they are still gonna beg for food.....still fight.....still try to spawn...and still spit sand . You see "Happy Trophs". Personally, from my experience.....my Trophs seem to love the scrapes where I don't try to scape . I just throw any ole rock in the tank just any ole kinda way ....and they love it . Then again maybe I just have lazy .....sloppy Trophs .
