  • 75 gallon for tropheus

I've finished my 75 gallon set up last week, cycling included. It's been awhile since I kept a larger size tank. Got 50-60lb boulders in there. Man that was a workout. Good algae growth on the rocks. I think I just need to pu the water flow. I was gonna grow out Petrochromis trewavasae, but instead I think I'm gonna try to get my hands on some T. duboisi Karalani. I just dont' know If I'll go with just a single species or get a group of T. black bembas or bulus. My wife likes T. illangi. I think a total group of 25-30 1-2 inch fish should be ok in there for a year.
Appeciate any thoughts on this matter, before I order my fish.

[PBSS][/PBSS]I think you should stick to one group in the 75 gallon tank . I say this because If you get two species....then I don't think will have enough of each species to make the tank look good . Plus, if you add two species....one group will dominate the tank and look good...while the other group will look rather drab . Stick to one group......it will be visually more pleasing .

I was gonna use the 75gallon as a grow out tank for 1-2 inch trophs. ,but I see your point. I've never kept 2 species of trophs in less than a 150 gallon.
Now if Alex can't get me true Karilanis then I'm likely going with only a group of Petrochromis trewavasae.
