They'll get dark like you like when they get bigger.

Looks good. Gotta say, that's a lot of rock. I like the look though.

Rocks good. Gotta have a lot of circulation with that much though.

about 500 gallons/hr for filtration and 1000 gallons/hr with circulation pump.

Try to get it going so it stirs under the rock as much as possible. I got about 5K total going in my tank. They love some current. I may add more.

Originally I had when I was cycling the tank, I had about 250-300lbs of moss rock. I took it out and put 100lbs of petrified wood. Now there is probably over 200lbs of blue flag stone in there. All the pics I've seen of rift lakes have a similar look, esp. deep. I'm thinking of putting in 50/50 blue and white spec lights.

I know. They look pretty badARZ. I've seen some that were velvet black, under actinic lighting. The fins are cool. Ialways wanted a group of large black/dark fish. I had already done fronts many years ago, and tropheus some years back.

The rocks are actulally on PVC scaffolding (like reef tanks). except for two pieces, nothing rest completely on the bottom. Most of it leans back on framework. Theres also bubble tubbing that coarses under the the rock work. It's on a timer. I'm hesitant to put more flow (It's a 75 gallon). I had two circulating pumps in there and the smaller fish were being blown around. These guys are only just 1-2inches.

How big is that tank? How big are those P. trews?

Sorry, been makin' smoors. It's a 210. The biggest are around 6". maybe a little more. Not sure. Don't think they get much bigger.

All I can say is they are awsome looking. I miss my big tanks! When these guys get bigger, I'll get a bigger tank. I 'm thinking of adding some P. moshi. I'm wondering if I can get away with fewer moshi since I have all the trews. Those things get huge.

I'd say you takin' a chance with any less than 9-10. And ur right, they'd need a lot more water pretty quick. U might could stretch that with a lot of flow and filtration but I think it'll start stunting them at some point and sometimes it can be hard rebooting growth if that sets in too much. They would contrast nicely with the Trews though ... for sure.

I was thinking 12 moshi. Do you think with my 18 trews at 1-2 inches, that I've got at least 6-9 months before needing to upgrade to a 180-200+ tank?
