  • Water flow/ filtration 125 g

I am changing soon my fronts tank in tropheus
Would this be enough flow and filtration

    1-Fx5- bio max ring,eheim pre filter,eheim substrat
    1-2217- all eheim media
1-Aqua clear 110- double sponge ceramic ring

Planing on getting another aquaclear 110

    Flow:
    Maxi jet 1200
    Koralia 4 1400

I have a pump I use for water changes I can put in an Eco 396 gph utility pump

Or I need more filtration or more flow ?
I ask cause in my 55 I have a Koralia 750 and a maxi jet 1200 and is the right flow for me
    Lmk thanks

Looks good to me. I'd add a wet dry as soon as possible though.

+1 Wet dry handles so much bio load!

I rather do canister and HOB 's than a wet and dry

It coul be done without ? I know a few members in here
Old tropheus keeper's don't use them

True. Canisters and HOBs have a smaller chance of failure which is probably why some prefer it more. I know I didn't get the whole wet dry concept at first. I've yet to have a canister, but HOBs and canister vs wet dry, I'd take the wet dry any day. Planning to get a combo of canisters and wet dry though, so then, I could ditch the HOBs.

I use to have one but I hate it, if my tank were drill with overflow maybe I would try it again

Care to clarify why? I'm curious to know.

you certainly can do it without a wetdry. But being told by many og trophs keepers that with a wetdry tropheus thrive, breed alot more. I can certainly assure this my colony produces 30+ fry a month. Bottom line overfiltrate the tank you have.

valid point, but is not that bad once u get the hang of it. I flooded my room the first time i set up my w/d it took like a week for the carpet to dry. It was a nightmare but i stuck with it

I've never flooded my wet dry, but I've came close several times when I'm not paying attention during a water change. It's doing wonders for me so I'm sticking to it. LOL very true! Nothing wrong with not using a wet dry.

I took down my wet/dry for the same reason but my water doesn't look as clear. I have to clean the canisters more often. To keep the water how I like to see it. The wet/dry is being reinstaled. It will take the place of two canisters and I wont have to buy filter pad for them as often.
I have had some close calls on my Wifes wood floors but if the wet/dry is setup right. the only thing you need to worry about is not over filling the tank. be it a water change or just topping off...
The canister will work and I don't think you will have any trouble with flow.
                          good luck...

Would a emperor 400 help more with the bio wheel
Or should I put another ac110 with the other one I have

Or a Aqueon quiet flow 75 with the mini wet and dry?

I'd do the Aqueon. It's underrated and highly efficient. Since I added it to my tank, my water is a lot clearer. I personally love wet drys. I flooded my carpet just last week, but it wasn't because the suction didn't stop. My powerhead kept pushing water into the utube, so that's another preventative thing to keep in mind. Turn off powerhead when doing a water change. You could also drill a hole on the return valve at the level that would prevent it from flooding and also another thing is, you can use a canister and put the intake valve/tube whatever you call it and have the water get sucked from the wet dry sump back into the tank, instead of having it take water from the tank itself.
