  • after loss - what to do

    Hi all,

So, I have calmed down considerably since my crash. But have some concerns.

I have 11 Trophs left. Yes, I put a lower number up in my initial report. I guess I'm kinda weird in that I like to identify each fish and it turns out a couple must have lived in hiding most of the time. So it took me a few days to understand I had "new" fish.

Anyways..... Although things are not bad now ( In fact besides breeding the tank is quite calm) I am a bit worried about my low stocking rate. I've done the rescape thing twice. I left two end pieces as I've got breeding behavior going on there but I moved around other structures.

I've got a few other fish in the tank but I dont' believe they will effect the Troph's behavior (bala sharks, 2 clowns and 3 lemons).

My question is - Am I in for a slaughter with this low stock rate? If so, what are my options?

    Thanks,

    Simon

i seen low stocked tanks work, but its been smaller than a 135. How aggressive are your fish? just keep a close eye on them

          Ok. so options.

          1) find more lufubu - I would guess juvies could be added but it will take some time for them to grow and disperse the agression of the adults.

          2) add something else. Hadn't even thought about this before the crash - so very open to suggestions.

          3) start again. Find a home for the lufubu and try something else.

              1) add some tropheus

              2) stop rescaping your tank every three days

              3) remove all tank mates
I ate my fish that died.

Thanks - the bala's are probably big enough to go in the kids Oscar tank which was the plan. The lemons - anyone want three juvies (left over from a breeding set that I sold).

Moving this weekend so one more rescape or at least change.

                I'll check with mgarrido
