What do you guys have your media set up like for the big eheim 2260.

i was thinking Bioballs a little carbon floss ?

Curious to see what your media is like?

I run this setup: coarse sponge, Bio-balls/bio-bale, finer sponge.

I prefer to buy local. The eheims I buy come w/ media. Post a wanted add for whatever you're looking for. HFB will come a calling.

I use the standard suggested setup with nice results. The mech ceramic noodles, green floss, seachem matrix, and top it with filter floss

filled to the top with Seachem Pond Matrix, nothing else.

So far I'm liking it.
Usually run coarse sponge and filled to the top with Eheim Ehfisubstrat Pro.


Pest prices for Eheim media from what I have seen is from Fish Gallery in their plastic clear containers.

How much Ehfifix media do you put in the canister all the 5 liters or half?

That would be up to you. Everybody has a different preference on how they set up their 2260s.

Help! Can you put loose bioballs in the 2260?????

Theres no way it can get sucked up by the filter but wanna make sure

yes loose bioballs will be fine just make sure you fill it completely

I wouldn't. They aren't meant to be used completely submerged. Best when exposed to water and air. Better use of the space with seachem matrix or equivalent

If you dont want to put bio balls or dont have much money to spend; you can always put pot scrubbers from dollar store or even lava rock in the trays.
Its forgiving on the pocket and is a great substitute bubba.
