Syphon Killer!!!

very sad day today was doing my weekly water change i took 75% water out
and when it came time to fill it back up i seen a fish stuck in the syphon
by that time it was to late he was already gone to fish heaven
this never has happen before
i guess we learn something everyday he was a big male too

I use a media bag that they sell at pet smart fits my syphon perfectly no fish get sucked up.

I don't know why he didn't swim back down I've seen him go in the syphon and come back down this sucks

Stick on the end and put a rubber band on it

do you use the faucet when u did the WC like ran the faucet to suck water out the tank? If so dont do it anymore suck out the attachment part and let it drain into the bath tub, you will save water and fish :)

cichlid i use my garden hose line for suction its to
slow if i let it run by itself????

Sorry to hear , I use a water pump to empty all my tanks, in the smaller ones I use a power head put the hose to it adjust the strainer to the height u want to empty sit and relax ,

Use some kind of strainer. I've had my clown loaches get sucked out and a 2-2.5" petro sucked in the 3/4 PVC but I caught it in time so he made it.
