Anyone ever keep these 2 species in the same tank? Its a 29g tank, meleagris are 1"-1.5" and demasoni will be about the same size.

They should be fine for now. Not sure about adulthood. Meleagris can hold their own. Just make sure you have a lot of rock work that goes high in the tank. If you don't, they'll both take up sand real estate and that could get messy -
Personally, no. Lol, the meleagris stay kinda small and can hold their own to a certain extent. But demasoni are mean and would probably pick on the.lil guys over time. JMO.5 gal baby hecqui grow out
