Recieved my Kigoma fry today.  I purchased 20 hoping that when all is said and done I will have atleast 8 female.  I have them split, 10 fry in each 10 gallon tank.  Both 10's have HOB filters, but the tank with a smaller HOB has a spnge filter to help out a little.

they are sooo tiny, cant wait to see them when they are grown up a bit, but super cute. Man i wish i had room for a 125 or 150 for fronts, would be super cool, but not in the 1 bedroom , What size are they going to be in for their permanent home?

They will be in a 125.  If the time comes that they need a larger tank I will look into a 180, but they should  be good in the 125 for atleast a 1-2 years.  Really, I guess it all depends on how many end up being female.  If I end up with 12 or more female then that 180 will come quicker than planned(and so will the wife's yelling).

I had the guy send me some NLS that is designed for quicker growth(something like that) so hopefully they will grow fast.

Nice fry.  They look to be about an inch in size.

Ya, the largest is about 1.25" maybe.  I cant wait until they get to 1.5"ish  so I can put them in my 125, then they can really grow.

NLS Growth and lots of water changes will get them going!

I also supplemented a good amount of mysis, spirulina brine shrimp and NLS Thera+A formula when mine were growing...




Feels like just yesterday my Mobas were tiny little stripes...

I was told by Chris at Ultimate Fish that  NLS is no longer being made, anybody know anymore about this??

Is 84 degrees too hot for a tank.  I have 2 thermometers and one say the tank is 84* and the other says its 80*.  Since I dont know which is right I am going to assume the higher is right.

BTW: the heater in this tank is only set to 74*

Not at all, Just make sure theres plenty of surface agitation or an airpump running on it.
