      It's both... Some fish don't get the nachal hump, so what do you do when you want your fish to have a nachal hump? You cross breed it. Which is why we have Flowerhorns. There are more cichlids don't get the nachal hump than those that do. But without a doubt, there is a lot of fish in the hobby that do.

          see, i'm not even factoring the hybrids into play... i should have been more clear. i was only saying that lots of non-hybrid cichlids develop a nuchal hump. :) all y'all are dirty.
          my fish house:
          2.5g- ramshorn hatchery
          6g eclipse- yellow shrimp, chili rasboras, yellow apple snails
          29g- geo grow-out, angels, 12"fire eel, dwarf frog, apple snails
          45g- jade sleeper gobies, native killifish, feeder endlers

          75g-
          2 oscars, parrot, silver dollars, albino channel cat, syno euptera, bichir, baby jaguar, convicts, yabby
          125g- fahaka puffer, rainbow shark
          and about a dozen bettas....

            convicts - be ready. they will breed again soon. then again, and again, and again. can hold their own against bigger fish. great paternal care, fun to watch, beautiful.

            yellow labs - same as convicts. but from africa and yellow.

            jack dempsey - awesome, but can get big.

                Thanks again for all the help from all of you. The tank all these guys came from was NAAAASTY! I can see a noticable difference in all of them just over these last few hours. Check the livestock section soon too.....I'll have a few up for sale/trade! Lol
