  • Tropheus Tank size question

I have space for a tank up to 5 feet long...which would be better for Tropheus and why?
    4 foot 150 gallon (48x24x31)
    or
    5 foot 125 gallon tall (60x18x24 tall)
    215g Malawi Peacocks and Mbuna
180g Tropheus Ikola and Bemba and Clown Loaches
58g Bristlenose breeding and grow out

5ft 125 gets my vote. Horizontal space/span is where it's at especially when one chases another and the chasee needs room to get away.

Actually just want to give my mixed group more room (and maybe add more later). They are in a 36x18 tank now and it seems to be too much fighting for space. I have some Orange Bemba, Ikola, Maswa, and a few of your Lefubu (I think)
              215g Malawi Peacocks and Mbuna
180g Tropheus Ikola and Bemba and Clown Loaches

Cool. Yeah, they'll appreciate the extra space.
