  • Hap Moori Fry

    Hey boxers,

Check out these little guys: http://youtu.be/Pr913p4GL04
    The parents: http://youtu.be/9xoalvunaX4

This is two spits worth of fry. (two females were holding, so i netted them and brought them into this ten gallon. A few minutes later, they spit their fry, and then I removed the adults from the tank)

It's been about two weeks that the fry have been in this tank and they seem to be doing well. Once they grow out a bit, anyone interested in some young blue dolphins? What do you think a fair price would be for the fry?

    Thanks for looking,
    -Cpirnie3

I see them go for $8 for 1.5" youngsters at stores, so probably a bit under that should be fair. Usually offering a group (6+) discount is reasonable as well.

Thanks Mnemenoi for the prices. I'm hoping they all grow out well. I've lost 2 out of about 40 fish since the moms spit them. Thanks again.

You are in lumberton?? Sweet!! I would like some if you still have them. My frontosa fry are about 3" long and I want the moori to be too large for them to try to eat when I get them. Let me know! :)

Kelli - I've still got all the little guys. They're still growing out. The largest ones are maybe 1/2", and the smallest in the group are probably a little bigger than 1/4". Once they get big enough not to fit in your fronts' mouths I'll have some reserved for you. Any thoughts on how many you'd like?

Kelli -sorry about the delay in response- I'll be sure to save you some of the little beauties. I'm thinking once the fry get about 1" - 1-1/2", I will charge $5/fish under 6, or $4/fish for 6+.

Also, I've got two little ones at home so i've cut back a bit on the tanks. All I have set up right now is the 75 in the video above for the adult hap moori and congo tetras, the 10 gal fry tank (soon to be a 29 grow out tank), and a 10 gallon with a betta and glofish in my daughter's room. In the past, I've kept tons of different community fish, and some cichlids (African and S American). What other fish do you have?

Also, I'll text you my number so you've got it for future fish stuff.

                Thanks,
                Chris

                      3 months since the spit

                      Hey everyone,

The fry are about 3 months post-spit. Also, they have a new 29 gallon grow out tank to explore. Check out the new video update :) http://youtu.be/2FvhZ5gj0O0
