If you put them straight into a bucket, not long. Fill up 2 buckets. Net them and put them into bucket 1 for 15-20min. When fish get stressed, they tend to make poopie. Then net them out again when their systems are more clear then put in bucket 2. Assuming the bucket is not sitting in 50 degree weather, I'd say a good 4-5 hours. -
Or just have a second bucket with aerationComment

I sense ruffled feathers! I'm just sayin... It seems like you've kept fish in a bucket for several hours on numerous occasions, some with aeration and some without. If you've been doing it many times now, why would you need to even ask anyone's opinion? If it works for you, then it works for you.Comment

Fish in bucket
Sometimes I ask people their opinion so I can tell them they are wrong and throw poop at them. But I suppose that's not always the best approach.
