cichlid vs gar

I have never seen a sight such as a cichlid chasing a gar around a tank nipping at his tail. I tell you i dont know if hes brave or stupid.

Could use a dash of salt......

120 gallon Fahaka, Gar, Catfish, 2 dwarf graumi, 2 cichlid

30 gallon salt

10 gallon baby cichlid

What type of cichlid? And how big are the gar and the cichlid?

Gars aren't very aggressive until they get larger, and really only if they can swallow a smaller fish for food.

I don't think I would put anything with a gar but feeder fish. Hopefully your cichlid survives!
