VERY nice pick up! Looking forward to this tank coming together. It'll be so niiice!
And props to the wife!!! Me and Roy got our 150g in the house alone, but I thought for a minute I was going to die. With my guts hanging out of a hernia. That sh** gets HEAVY!!

Got water in and my FX5 running. Everything was level before water and now with everything settled its about 1/8" off side to side and around even to 1/16" front to back. I'm thinking that's about as good as its gonna get but if more experienced people think I should put shims under it to correct that small of an imbalance I will.

The substrate goes in tonight and some time this weekend I will add the eheim filter that came with the tank. I've had to hold off adding it bc the previous owner said the last time he ran the filter it leaked, but he even admitted it could have been user error. Regardless I don't want to start it up until I have time to stay around the house a few hours to watch it.

Plan to add some fish this weekend, but not to many

Got moat of the stand done. Sides are fake hair-on cow hide and front is fake dark brown leather. We're going to add something to the front but not sure what yet. We were thinking maybe some 1" diameter brass circles(not sure what they are called

Wild! Great idea, I have to say, I love to see personalization on that level, too cool.
Do you have kids? If so, I bet they love it. My dad used to have a cowhide on the wall with martial arts weapons hung on it, and as a kid I loved that...I used to sneak up and touch it when he wasn't looking. Lol.

I'm sure its not for everyone but I like it. We have a modern western style in our living room. Kid hasn't seem it yet

Coming along very nicely! I know you said its a 225, but curious what the dimensions are? And what kinda fish are you guys leaning towards ? Love the metal stand, never gotta worry about that, and itll hold for many decades.

                                It's roughly 72 x 24 x 30tall

It will probably be some Fronts, Haps and Peacocks. I would also like to try some Cyprichromis but will have to get grown jumbos so they dot end up as food. Don't have a true plan but I know I want hardy fish.
