About the only cichlids that will not dig much, or totally move substrate , would be the Julidochromis species from lake tanganyika and possibliy Ram cichlids and Discus. Those are the ones that will did the least if not much at all. Most cichlids will dig in gravel either to search out food in the gravel or sand, or move it in preparing for breeding.
I cant think of any really off the top of my head that dont dig at all. Africans will dig in gravel or sand, so it depends what regions you are thinking of for suggestions like troy stated. my tank of Africans, SA and CA move gravel around often even when sifting for food.
I think that someone on here is selling a colony, not sure about their collection point. There are quite a few articles online, but care is nothing special and ours breed regularly. I think homeless aquatics might have some, just pm Tim (armthehomeless)

Rams do some digging but not as much as other cichlids was my point. Discus and Angels would be a better choice, if you are looking for cichlids which do not dig much or not at all. If you are looking for africans which do not dig, there is very little to choose from if any.Cyprichromis,as mentioned and also Paracyprichromis are a few that would be non digging africans..

I read an article said they should be kept in large group. How large is large? 6, 10, 20?
I can't tell the difference between Cyprichromis and Paracyprichromis.
They do best in bigger groups, we started with 6 and currently are up to 10. Paracyps are more rock dwellers while Cyps tend to prefer open water and only move to rockwork for sleeping at night.
