  • Substrate change ?

I am looking to change out the substrate in my 135g. The stock includes 7x frontosa 4-9" currently has black sand wanting to change it to white. What would be the easiest way to do it and would it be better to romove the fish during the process? Just want to know how y'all would go bout do it.

Oh I am looking for the whiter pool filter sand if anybody has enough for a 135. I could trade for the substrate I have or fish in my forsale thread. Thanks

I've done it a few time and just left my fish in there. Scooped out all the sand and then vacuumed the bottom, added new sand. Stays cloudy for an hour but clears up quick if you have good filtration.

Did you remove any of water before scooping out the old sand?

Joe, I'd move my fish, drain all the water, and wet/dry vacuum the black sand for a lot quicker removal.
