need legal help has to do with cichlids

If there are any lawyers on this site or someone who can maybe point me in the right direction of action. Long story short was evicted from my rental house wasnt able to get my fish fron the house until yesterday amd they were in a 125 for almost two weeks i realized my ex roomate had turned off the lights and filter bc he said "it was running up the electricity" he wouldn't key me hey then until yestrday so when I finally did abd brought then home every fish had died. And they were all my almost full grown breeders ive had for yrs it is one of the wrist things ever to Happen. A trio of ngara flametails a 1 m 3f taiwan reefs (breeding constanly) 6 williamsii blue lips 2 roseline sharks a red empress trio and a trio of black pibalds (vics). Only my l144 pleco survived. Plz if anyone knows what I can do do get some type of compensation for atleast negligence and animal cruelty. Thank you fish box family I'm young and a little hot headed/protective especially ofmy fish and daughters i wana go about this the right way. Thanks for anyone willing to help our give me Some advice on the situation.

That sucks im sorry best bet is gonna be small claims court I would bet you'll need to go and get ads from different websites showing price of the fish or if you have receipts and try and find higher priced for breeder pairs

Definitely small claims court. It would also be helpful to have photos of the fish. I work for a law firm but we wouldn't be able to take a case like this. I could help you by telling you what to do. Pm me.

I do not have those kinds of cichlids and breeders, but I have yellow lab, blue acei, ob peacock you can have to get you restarted...

small claims courts is definitely the route. it would be like 80 dlls depending on your court to file the suit.

you also recoup court costs if you win. anything from 50-150$
