  • 100g Kilesa, caudopunctatus, cyp tank!

Ok so these last few weeks iv been work like a mad man at the apt doing all kinds of fish stuff. Finally got around to getting this tank setup and yes pictures to show its for reals. Tank is an acrylic 60-18-24
The back got painted blue, then taped with blue painters tape to keep nics and scathing from mics filters and what not. Its got about 150lbs of the fine aragonite sand in it, to make a thick sand bed for the kilesa to have fun with. Rock is some really nice grey shist. (Thank you John Crowder) and i threw in a few plants for some color and visual appearance. Im in the process of finding the fish and stocking this tank. But its all setup and ready! Enjoy the pics, still a lil cloudy from setup but itll clear.

    Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Not exactly sure yet. Theres areas for 4 males to pits, so i may get 4 or 5 males and watch them flash. But i set it up to have three pretty good pit areas.

You sure that scape is appropriate for breeding them? I would put the rocks to the side and leave the middle open. Or put rocks in the middle and leave both sides wide open. They need a large radius to breed.

Shoud be ok, i know they like huge open areas but i didn't want a bare tank. So i arranged rocks to have three pretty good areas of open space. And secluded places for females to hide and relax from the males. Keep in mind im having caudopunctatus and some cyps on top too!

I'm partial to brighter tanks so I say T5HO. It allows you to choose different lighting spectrum as LEDs are limited to moonlights and whites.

Indeed, cooler with far more options available. TopDogSellers on Ebay has a variety of different options for a realistic price

layout looks great. as long as the males have some options i think they would be ok. i do like brighter tanks as well and the blue background really accents the substrate

Y'all need to look into DIY LED flood lights. A single 50W 10000K LED hung about 15" - 18" above that tank will light it up like the sun.
